New Zealand. Since his graduation in 1999, Jamie has designed for manufacturers and consultancies in Australia, the United Kingdom, Continental Europe, Asia and America including Makio Hasuike in Milan, Neil Pryde in Hong Kong, Pearson Lloyd and Tom Dixon in London.
Jamie has won numerous awards for his work, including the supreme Purple Pin at the Best Awards and a Red Dot Award. His work has been exhibited in London, Milan, Beijing, Shanghai and New York.
Since returning to New Zealand in 2006 to establish his own product and furniture design studio, he has worked on wide-ranging projects – from lighting to luxury water craft, bicycles to beer taps, furniture to airline food service ware and most recently the design of the now celebrated Allbirds woollen running shoe, described by Time Magazine as the ‘worlds’ most comfortable shoes’. Jamie is now Head of Design for Allbirds, based in San Francisco, while still managing some new personal design work through his studio.
What drives Jamie’s work is consistent set of beliefs and a strong sense of purpose; each design ultimately becoming an object people are passionate about, want to use and to live with.
